Nursery Schools

What's the difference between nursery and preschool? Preschools usually work around a formal curriculum and trained teachers - making them a little more expensive! Nursery schools are usually a more relaxed learning environment and more flexible enrollment terms. They are also cheaper and vary greatly.

What age is a preschooler? Ages up to 4 is considered preschooler with toddlers are 1 to 3 year old bracket. Basically 4-year-old are not 'toddling' around any more and so are no longer toddlers!

What does preschool mean?

Is Pre K considered preschool?

Daisy Chain Childcare Ltd

High Ridge Park, Rothwell, Leeds LS26 0NL, UK – 0113 282 5766

My daughter has attended Daisy Chain Rothwell since October 2017 at this point she was 10 months old. Being a first time mum, I naturally felt anxious about leaving my daughter for the first time, however, the staff in the Pixie room soon put me at ease. The care that they offer is excellent and I feel comfortable everyday leaving my daughter with them. It is such a lovely feeling to be able to go to work and know that she is so well cared for. My daughter has developed so well whilst being at nursery, she has grown in confidence and has developed an excellent understanding. I feel that this is due to the staff who have clearly made an effort to get to know her and are able to identify her needs. She has a lovely bond with her key worker and will smile and put her arms straight out to her when I drop off. The nursery is a lovely environment and always feels warm and homely. I would defiantly recommend Daisy Chain to other parents and can't speak highly enough of them.

I just wanted to say how brilliant Daisy Chain is and how fantastic the staff are. My child started in Jan 2012 and just left in July this year, he found it difficult to sit still, he was very insecure, struggled with social skills and his behaviour was challenging. He started 2 afternoons per week, then went to 3 at Lofthouse and in a very short time he made improvements. Now 18 months later, his communication skills are fantastic, he has a brilliant concentration span and his maths skills are extremely advanced. He has learned to play with other children, in fact I would never believe how much difference your nursery could have made to his life. Julie and the Elves team have been absolutely fantastic and offered us so much help and support, without them I don't think we would have made so much progress. I can not express how grateful I am for the support and care you have all shown towards my son, he would definitely not be at the standard he is without daisy chain. Once again, thank you for your outstanding nursery service.

Little Clovers Nursery

18 Brown Lane West, Leeds LS11 0DN, UK – 0113 345 0958

Can not give this nursery any less than 5 stars as they deserve more ! My little girl has been at little clovers for over a year now and when she started she had several issues such as anaemia-wouldnt sleep at school and being nervous as well-the staff went over and above to address these issues especially lizzie who she became very close to -lizzie would take my daughter with her when she got upset and share her lunch with her - they suggested taking a pushchair for sleep times and they comforted my daughter by rocking her to sleep - all the staff are extremely attentive and now my daughter has moved class they ensured she mixed with other people to make the process easier and now my daughter is happy to start forming a new bond with leah - my daughters confidence has grown so much and she has developed with her learning so much -all the staff here are very friendly -very caring and i feel more than comfortable leaving my girl at nursery and every issue she has had the staff have gone over and above normal care to ensure my daughter is happy.5 star + nursey from every aspect !

Great nursery which has contributed fantastically to my child's development. The nursery provides very comprehensive and regular updates with specialist childcare software. Other positives include the large amount of space for the children and the friendly staff.

Flowerpots Day Nursery

192 Dewsbury Rd, Leeds LS11 6ER, UK – 0113 270 8316

Whilst my child doesn't attend this nursery, I wish he could. Visited recently on an open day and was astounded by the high quality of care the setting provides. It's a surprise given how small it looks externally but the variety of activities available and the quality of the facilities is brilliant. I'm disappointed that they only take from age two as I was looking for my baby but once he reaches this age I will seriously consider sending him here. Well worth a look around.

Crosbys Little Angels Limited

1 Blenkinsop Way, Leeds LS10 4GG, UK – 0113 277 3224

I have only ever sent my children to nurseries however I changed my son to this childminders and it was more convenient and it was the best decision I could of made. My son loves it here! He settled in straight away. The staff are all very friendly and easy to approach. They always keep me updated on my son. I would definitely recommend :)

SPA Professional Academy

City Walk, Leeds LS11 9AT, UK – 0113 223 4555

I studied for the CAM Diploma in Digital Marketing with SPA Professional Academy and would recommend the study centre (and tutor Andrew) to anyone considering studying for a Chartered Institute of Marketing qualification. Andrew’s classes were always well structured and clearly presented. He covered all the key areas of the syllabus in detail and brought the theory to life with plenty of real life working examples, encouraging conversations among the students to ensure we all fully grasped each concept and how it related back to our businesses. Andrew was always flexible with times and dates for classes which was particularly important for me as I moved from Leeds to London half way through the qualification. I also found Andrew to be greatly supportive, always on hand to answer questions and give advice and encouragement when needed. I learnt a great deal from this course and while assignments were tough, having finished university 8 years before starting the CAM, I genuinely enjoyed attending the course, meeting the other students and am very pleased I decided to take up the challenge. Thank you Andrew for all your help and support – it is genuinely appreciated!

I have recently passed my CIM Certificate in Professional Marketing with SPA Professional Academy and I can't recommend enough. I chose the weekend course as I prefer to learn and ask questions face-to-face (not just for the coffee and cake!). You meet some great people - and to help with group learning the content is kept current and open questions/discussions are encouraged. What I found most useful was the amount of support. Resources such as audio files, and presentations were always available online, plus Andrew is happy to schedule calls or meet up if you miss any sessions.
